Join us on an (unofficial) Manchester Pride Protest calling for improved LGBTQIA+ rights and better funding of Manchester's LGBTQIA+ charities
Time & Location
28 Aug 2021, 11:30
Manchester, Deansgate Metrolink Station, Whitworth Street West, Manchester M3 4LG, UK
About the Event
In light of Manchester Pride's decision to cancel the official Pride parade and cuts to funding of LGBTQIA+ charities in Manchester, join PRiDE OUT as we take part in the (unofficial) Manchester Pride Protest march. It will be calling for better funding of Manchester's charities and community groups, trans rights, the Gender Recognition Act and a ban on conversion therapy. Placards and signs are welcome
We are led to believe by the organisers that Greater Manchester Police have agreed to block off traffic on the route as the protest march is in progress, including through the 'Gay Village'. For those with access needs, we believe there is an accessible route. Access into the Canal Street is a public right of way, however we are unsure whether bikes will be permitted; therefore we suggest
Meet outside Deansgate Metrolink Station from 11.30am and the march begins at 12:00pm. Face masks and social distancing encouraged.
Further Information on the protest march is available on the Twitter page: https://twitter.com/MCRPrideProtest
