PRiDE RIDE 2020

Will you join #OurPrideRide? Socially distanced of course...

On 13 June 2020, PRiDE OUT and our allies are coming together virtually to celebrate LGBTQ+ people who cycle, with a weekend of social-distanced riding with #OurPrideRide.

As part of #OurPrideRide campaign, we've partnered with award-winning blogger & author Emily Chappell. In this CyclingUK article, hear what Emily has to say about why it's just as important as ever to make sure LGBTQ+ people feel welcome in cycling.

We're also delighted to confirm this Pride Ride is being supported and promoted by CyclingUK, British Cycling, Scottish Cycling and Welsh Cycling.

This is the first in what we hope will be an annual celebration of the #LGBTQ community in cycling, with a chance to virtually hear from LGBTQ+ cyclists and understand what we can all do to make cycling more diverse and inclusive at every level.

With restrictions on group activity this year it means no Pride marches and no group rides. But it’s more important than ever that we come together virtually as a community by sharing our support on our solo/household rides that weekend. Whether you are riding around the park, on a mountain biking trail or an epic route, you can make it an #OurPrideRide celebration by:

1. Wear something rainbow on your ride (For example Rainbow Laces, Rainbow armband, t-shirt etc ) or even just something brightly coloured

2. Tag your rides and any photos from it using #OurPrideRide on Strava, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook

3. Share stories from LGBTQ cyclists from your friends or that you see published by cycling organisations and the cycling press.

Get riding!
